Help & Getting Started
Last updated: 6 August 2026
This guide walks you through the DiabetesLife app — logging your day, scanning lab reports, planning meals, reading your trends, and connecting to your doctor. If you get stuck, email us any time at support@diabeteslifeapp.com.
1. Create your account
Open the app and sign in with your email address. We send a one-time 6-digit code to that email — enter it to sign in. There is no password to remember. On first sign-in, add a few basics (your name, diabetes type and time zone) so your trends and reminders line up with your day.
2. Log your day from the Home tab
The Home tab (🏠) is your daily hub. The quick-action buttons let you record everything in a couple of taps:
- Log Glucose 💉 — a reading, with whether it was fasting, before or after a meal.
- Log Meal 🍽️ — what you ate, by meal type.
- Log Medication 💊 — tablets and insulin doses.
- Log Activity 🚶 — steps or exercise.
- Log BP 🩺 — blood pressure and other vitals.
Every log can be backdated— set the actual time you ate or measured, not just when you tapped. Home also shows today's glucose, your latest HbA1c, average and time-in-range, your logging streak, and recent activity.
3. Scan your lab reports (Labs tab)
On the Labstab (🧪) you can upload a photo or PDF of a lab report. DiabetesLife reads it for you and pulls out the values — HbA1c, lipids, kidney and thyroid results and more — so you don't have to type them in. Your full lab history is kept for you and is free on every plan.
4. Plan meals (Diet tab)
The Diet tab (🥗) builds Indian meal suggestions tuned to your latest labs and following ICMR-NIN guidelines, so your plate matches where your numbers are now.
5. See your trends (Analytics tab)
The Analyticstab (📊) charts your glucose and lab trends over time, with a shaded normal-range band so you can see at a glance when you're inside target. The last 30 days are free; longer history (3 months and beyond), AI insights and PDF reports are part of Pro.
6. Connect to your doctor
If your doctor uses the DiabetesLife Doctor Portal, you can share your data with them securely. You are always in control of this link.
- Ask your doctor for the email address they use on the portal.
- In the app, open Settings (⚙️) and find the Doctor section.
- Enter your doctor's email and tap Link Doctor.
- Once linked, your doctor sees your logs and trends on their portal, and your name appears on their patient list automatically.
You can remove the link at any time from the same screen — tap Remove doctor. Removing it stops sharing your future data with them.
A bonus: if your clinic is on the DiabetesLife Clinic plan, connecting your doctor unlocks all Pro features for you for free, for as long as you stay linked.
7. Free vs Pro
- Free — daily logging, lab scanning, unlimited lab history, and 30-day charts.
- Pro — 3-month-and-beyond history, AI insights, meal-plan insights and PDF reports.
You can manage your plan under Settings. On Android, Pro is purchased through Google Play; on the web it's handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details.
Are you a doctor?
If you run a clinic and want to follow your patients' diabetes between visits, see the Doctor Portal guide for how the portal works and how patients connect to you.
